I agree that an AI code of ethics must be established, but I am unsure that religion should be the guiding principle. After all, religion has been employed by humans to carry out some of the most destructive events and teachings in history. One can argue that humans thwart religion to benefit their objectives so we shouldn’t rely on something that can be easily corrupted as the moral beacon for the future of artificial intelligence. Perhaps a global code of ethics extracted from the main religious and philosophical ideologies needs to be written to ensure relevancy in the contemporary world while leaving behind the outdated aspects and teachings.
